GeneCards® is a searchable, integrated database of human genes that provides concise genomic related information, on all known and predicted human genes

The GeneCards human gene database extracts and integrates a carefully selected subset of gene related transcriptomic, genetic, proteomic, functional and disease information, from dozens of relevant sources. It provides robust user-friendly access to up-to-date knowledge. GeneCards overcomes barriers of data format heterogeneity, and uses standard nomenclature and approved gene symbols. GeneCards presents a complete summary for each gene, and provides the means to obtain a deep understanding of biology and medicine. Information is featured in 20 GeneCards sections. 

GeneCards® was developed over the last 15 years by a world-leading bioinformatics team at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.
GeneCards® was licensed to Xennex in 2003. Xennex customers include biotechnology, pharmaceutical and other life sciences companies, as well as organizations dealing with biotechnology intellectual property. In May 2012, Xennex, Inc. was merged into LifeMap Sciences Inc. (www.lifemapsc.com). The Xennex Division of LifeMap Sciences will continue to work directly with its existing clients and partners worldwide.
